Review: Ghost Agents
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
You had me at “ghost.” I am, and always have been intrigued by ghosts, but this isn’t your typical ghost story. There is a secret Bureau that helps protect “projections” and their history. But when a group comes in and tries to harm certain ghosts in Galveston, the Bureau is on high alert.
This was such an easy read that flowed, and kept my interest the entire time with ghosts, ghost hunting, family, friends, mystery, and love.

Review: Til Death We Do Part
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Pablo, a police officer who has recently received an official complaint against him and is being accused of using the station database for his own personal research, is now having some major marital issues at home as well. His wife, Delilah, decides that she has had enough of him after 29 years of marriage, and wants out.
We follow the couple throughout the break up, how they handle it, and all the feelings - oh, those feelings.
I enjoyed the storyline but it tended to be a little repetitive, with the same things happening over and over. Pablo writes to his wife begging her to come back, she says no, he cries, repeat. The contestant contact by Pablo is a little creepy and stalkerish, even after Delilah tells him to leave her alone. And Delilah was just outright mean. Hasn’t anyone heard of communication before?
After reading the author bio, I honestly think that this is his story with the names changed. If not, then the resemblance is uncanny!
Overall, a good read. Not your typical feel good love story, but I can say that Pablo loves with his whole heart!

Review: Twenty Years Later
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I am a mystery/thriller junkie! Give me a book like that and I am good. Well, this books is that and so so so much more. Not only do we have the unsolved murder that happened in 2001 to an amazing author that was swept under the rug once 9/11 occurred, but you also have a famous journalist reporter and is looking into the murder from years ago, whose father ran an infamous Ponzi scheme. I mean, it is a who-dunnit on steroids!
What I absolutely loved about this book was not only the short “one more chapter” chapters, but also the way they left you hanging making you read that next chapter just to find out what is going on.
Yes, there was an awful lot of things happening in this book, but I really enjoyed it and look forward to more from this author!

Review: An Unexpected Christmas Encounter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Sweet
This is a very sweet come to Jesus story.
When Carlotta gets car jacked and is driving around, being held at gunpoint by a man who is definitely under the influence of something, she turns to prayer to help her out of the situation. During this long captive experience, she is able to wear her captor down and soften his heart.
Although this is a story with a powerful message and a surprise ending, it is very repetitive and not very deep. It kind of glosses over the characters. But overall a quick easy read that packs a powerful punch.

Review: The Selfless Act of Breathing
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Let’s start with this:
Michael seems like he’s got his life together. A good job as a teacher, loved by his students and his mother, and the starting a of a life savings. But under that shiny exterior, Michael is struggling with inner demons, and decides to run away from his home in the UK, and explore the U.S. He does so, visiting various parts of the country until his money runs out.
This was a very hard book to get through. Honestly, the whole thing was quite sad from the depression and lack of self worth, to the crime and issues in the world today. That aside, there were no dates on the chapters, only location and time, making it very difficult to figure out the timeline of the story.
This is a deep, dark, and depressing kind of book. However, overall, it wasn’t terrible, in fact, parts were quite beautiful and simple in that sometimes just being, and breathing, and loving is enough.
I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway.

Review: Across a Field of Starlight:
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This was a very interesting read. The characters were fun, the graphics were amazing, and it’s very modern in a science fiction world. My daughter grabbed this book and devoured it in one night and is now researching other books from this author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is such a cute book! Mashmi is going to live with a new owner and is scared of the changes about to happen. When he gets to his new home he is given freedom to roam rather than living in a cage but gets into some trouble while learning the rules.
The pictures are actual photos of Mashmi making the book that much more fun!

✔️Review:
You had me at ghost hunters and haunted hotel! My family loves all things super natural and this book was right up our alley. It was the perfect mix of friendship, relationships, paranormal, and ghost hunting. Throw in a little murder and we have a winner. This was a super easy fun read, and although it is considered YA, is great for all ages.

Review: Grateful Jake
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Cute
This is a very cute book following Jake, a rescue dog, and everything that he is thankful for. The message is fantastic and the pictures are adorable, however, both get lost on some of the pages with all the bubbles and side pictures.
As a family that fosters dogs, falls in love with them, and has been known to adopt those fosters, this book tugs at my heart strings and I love the message it is putting out there.
